Memories of the 90s

I was listening to a lot of 90s rock songs since yesterday, songs that I grew up with. They brought back streams of memories.

One of my favourite is “Everything You Want” from Vertical Horizon. It’s a song about hmm… being friendzoned?

From lyrics to the electronic reverbs, the song is written in a moody note. A guy waiting hopelessly for the girl he likes to notice him yet she showed love to all others except him. Sounds familiar?

I especially love the use of angels in the lyrics & the subtlety of the guitar chord changes. This song deported me back in time to my adolescent years~

How’s the 90s like to you? Or which song reminds you most of your teenage years?

Book Review: Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert

Where I Bought : eBook
Price :
Rating : 3/5 stars

According to my search on internet, this book was a hit in 2007. The readers either admired it or they totally loathed it. The reviews were extreme. Back then I didn’t know this book’s existence.

Fast forwarding to a few years later (2010), this book was adapted into a movie starring Julia Roberts. Soon after it premiered the books were promoted all over storefront of local bookshops, selling like hotcakes. Even my friend — who I think only read magazines — picked up this book because it was a fad back then. It was then I knew about this book’s existence but somehow interest eluded me.

So in August 2015 — 5 years later — to understand its popularity, I began reading this book. In fact I started reading it before checking anything off the internet.

Ed Sheeran — Photograph

Today’s post is going to be short as I’m a little under the weather.

This song from Ed Sheeran has been played again and again lately. It’s about separation with our loved ones, with only photographs kept by our side as memories.

The lyrics are touching and hearing his voice expressing the words is just pulling your heart strings.

Blogging 101 : Create a New Posting Feature

This summer course is counting down to its last days, save tomorrow and Sunday for the extra homework, here is today’s task: Develop a regular feature for your blog.

I love Fridays, who doesn’t? 😛

So I choose to do a feature on Fridays…

Something that is an important part of me.

Thus I would like to introduce you to… Melodious Friday!

What is that? You may ask.

To answer that, Melodious Friday is the day where I would like to spread the joy of music.

Music has been around since the existence of human. Aside from speaking language, we communicate and express ourselves via tunes and music.

Every Friday I shall pick a piece of song/music from different genres along with some brief stories to share with you. Hopefully after listening to it, you would fall in love, or get inspired by the melodious music.

I would also welcome you to share your favourite songs with me too, whether it’s your beach collection, favourite song in shower or a piece of music that moved you deeply.

Let’s us speak in the universal language of music! ❤

Note: Melodious Friday will start next Friday (31/7) 😀
