A Story in a Single Image

crowd_in_transit

Crowd in transit,

everyone carries their own baggage,

carries their hope for future,

or despair in the moment,

hues of yin & yang,

no absolute state,

joy becomes sorrow,

sorrow becomes joy,

life is forever in transient,

there may be happiness,

or sadness,

in these fleeting images.

Write a List

Here’s a list of 5 things that I can struck off from my bucket list:

  1. Passed my piano grade 8 practical exam!!! I’ve been wanting to tell this 😀
  2. All the way to Shanghai to get a book I really want… actually… it’s on the way 😛
  3. Bought an FFVII game soundtrack when I travelled ❤ (game soundtracks are non-existent in my country 😦 )
  4. Attended Jacky Cheung concert, no regrets.
  5. Attended Yundi Li piano recital, die with no regrets.

Don’t really have a fixed list but that’s a gist of what I like to do!

I Write Because . . .

At some point in life I resort to writing as an outlet for my expressive soul.

There are many ways to express oneself — through art.

I could draw a picture of characters whom I loved.

I could sing a song which is a mirror of my soul.

I could play a melody which carved the strongest emotions of memories.

I could compose a music where my creative energy flowed.

And I could write imaginative stories brewing in my head.

I could write the bizarre dreams I had.

I won’t stop at one, and I will stop at none.

Book Review: Raising Evangeline by Lisa Kent

Genre : Contemporary Romance
Format : eBook
Rating : 4/5 stars

Thank you NetGalley and publisher Curiosity Quills Press for this ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

The story took place 3 years after the event in the previous book — Peace Cottage. Lucy has come to terms with what has befallen her, as much as the saying goes “Everything happens for a reason” I think this was the theme that came through the book.

Please read on if you don’t mind a little spoiler.

Book Review: Peace Cottage by Lisa Kent

Genre : Contemporary Romance
Format : eBook
Rating : 5/5 stars

It’s been a long time since I’ve read a book that’s really quaint and peaceful, just like the title suggested. Peace Cottage is the perfect book if you want to read something warm, cozy and touching.

The book is about Lucy, a mother of two teenage daughters having to face life after she lost her husband to a tragic illness. Broken in her life and shunned by the community of her hometown after a decision she and her family made, Lucy decided to move out with her daughters Delia and Saffy in search for a new place to stay and start anew.

She found a place in East Winsett, Maine and rented a cottage in the woods. The cottage was beyond filthy when they started out but after some cleaning effort they began to appreciate its charm.  But the previous condition of the cottage and its mysterious and reserved owner kept Lucy wondering the history of the cottage.

Lisa Kent’s writing is exquisite. Her writing stirred the emotions of facing the loss of a partner and home, coping with the absence of happiness, parenting two teenage daughters about to step into adulthood, healing and addressing the pain and the greatest of all the hope to find love again.

Camera Lucida — Autumn Lane

I wish to have experienced autumn at least once in my life.

I could picture the wondrous scenery of nature changing colours into various shades of brown, orange and leaving the last hint of green behind.

While there’s no autumn in Malaysia, here’s a picture of a decoration flower which has colours that would make me imagine a sweet romantic autumn.
