Unbelievable 15 days! That’s how I feel about Blogging 101.
Aww… The Blogging 101 assignments had reached an end yesterday. However today and tomorrow Blogging U will wrap up with a few suggestions about what to do next for our blogs, as below.
Some reflection for today:
This summer course is counting down to its last days, save tomorrow and Sunday for the extra homework, here is today’s task: Develop a regular feature for your blog.
I love Fridays, who doesn’t? 😛
So I choose to do a feature on Fridays…
Something that is an important part of me.
Thus I would like to introduce you to… Melodious Friday!
What is that? You may ask.
To answer that, Melodious Friday is the day where I would like to spread the joy of music.
Music has been around since the existence of human. Aside from speaking language, we communicate and express ourselves via tunes and music.
Every Friday I shall pick a piece of song/music from different genres along with some brief stories to share with you. Hopefully after listening to it, you would fall in love, or get inspired by the melodious music.
I would also welcome you to share your favourite songs with me too, whether it’s your beach collection, favourite song in shower or a piece of music that moved you deeply.
Let’s us speak in the universal language of music! ❤
Note: Melodious Friday will start next Friday (31/7) 😀
Today’s assignment is kinda tough. Here’s what we should do : Extend your brand with one of the following: a custom site icon, a custom image widget, or a fan page.
My thoughts on these tasks:
- A custom site icon — I’ve completed this one way before task *grins*
- A custom image widget — Oh this is tough for me right now as I don’t have any photo editing software or digital pen to do this, so I resorted to just display a media gallery. At first I was hit by some trouble in displaying the gallery. I tried to insert an image widget that can link to a media gallery however the link seems broken. After troubleshooting only I realize I copied the incorrect link 😮 Well now I got it fixed and there’s a whole new gallery on my sidebar! Do check it out 😀
- A fan page — Wow! On Facebook? Hmm I’m contemplating this because I only want to maintain a single account to declutter my life. Maybe in the future…
What an eventful day! Here’s today’s assignment: Pick a blogging event from the Community Event Listings, and participate in the next round.
I have participated in quite a few weekly events already and for today’s assignment I thought of finding for a non-weekly event to ease up my schedule a bit. Browsing through the monthly, bi-weekly events, some topics are interesting alas the organizers has stopped updating their events and some event pages doesn’t exist anymore. 😦
So I resorted back to weekly challenges as they have more choices and are frequently updated.
And a link to my new post for this challenge entitled Travel Trinkets : Tiny Doll from Taiwan
Hope you enjoy the picture and have a nice day!
Today’s task is: Read six posts written in response to the same prompt, and leave comments on at least two of them.
For yesterday’s assignment I did not use the daily writing prompt, the prompt I used was taken from the eBook: 365 Writing Prompts.
However I’m going through the grid and check out how other bloggers interpret the prompt “Brilliant Disguise”, and leave my 2 cents. 😛
(After an hour probably)
Ok done! I’m really amazed at how a prompt can spark so many different interpretations!
Some prompts are kind of hard to answer or relate to aren’t they? At least they are for me 😦
Yet interesting though…
Uh oh I’m one day behind Blogging 101 schedule. Yesterday was a busy day but luckily I’m rather free today thus I plan to finish up 2 days’ homework.
Yesterday’s assignment was: Publish a post based on your own, personalized take on a blogging prompt.
Taken from DP’s eBook, here’s the prompt for July 21: Party Animals?
Party animals? After spending time with a group of people, do you feel energized and ready for anything or do you want to hide in the corner with a good book?
Friends of Past
In life friends come and go, they are like visitors of past, present and future. Some friends exists only in the past, some you have them in your circle today and some may walk into your life in the future, you may not know. Oh but some friends you have them for a lifetime, true as gold.
*Yawn* Before I go to sleep, I shall update my assignment for today: Create a blogroll to share a few links you love.
What I’ve learned today:
- Add a blogroll to my sidebar, which displays 10 blogs I followed in grid format. I noticed the blogs are selected randomly.
- Categorize my links and how to add links to blog.
TGIF! My bed is calling me!
